Essay Contest

Today we are finishing the work on our essays which were written over the summer, or in late September and early October. I am collecting the paper copies and the electronic copies of your essays. Please mail the electronic copy to me at my e-mail which is listed in the syllabus. It has my name beginning with "bb" and it ends with ell.u-bunkyo.ac.jp. I won't write it here.

How can we share and read our essays? How can we vote for the best ones? First of all, I am sharing some of them on the campus network in My Computer > Lecture (L:) > brinkman > Writing and Essay Contest > 2009 Student Essays Writing 2. In that folder you can read the first essays I have received, some of them in pdf form (because I converted them to pdf). (At the time of this writing, both class A and class B are mixed together. I will try to separate them later.) However, you can also post your finished essay on your blog. Because your blog is linked to my blog, the link will show up right away. Finally, when you have sent your essay to me and I have acknowledged receiving it, I will post it on the class blog (here) so that everybody can read the essays in one place. I will also make a poll for class A and another for class B so you can read and vote for your favorite essay in each class. I will label the essays with "A" or "B" so that you can see which ones belong to your class, if you want to read only your own class. If you have time, read the essays of the other class, too.

If your essay does not appear on the blog and I did not reply to your mail, please contact me and try to send it again. If you make a change to your paper, you can send it again and I will try to update the old one and replace it with the newer version.
